पिछड़ा वर्ग के आरक्षण का विरोध करने में सबसे आगे रहने वाली राजस्थान सरकार हाईकोर्ट के आदेश के बावजदू स्थायी ओबीसी आयोग नहीं बना रही है। पिछले साल 10 अगस्त को हाईकोर्ट ने समता आंदोलन की याचिका पर फैसला देते हुए राजस्थान सरकार से कहा था। इसके बजाय उसने एक अस्थायी ओबीसी आयोग बनाया था जिसे राजस्थान हाईकोर्ट ने भंग करने के आदेश दिए हैं।

शुक्रवार को एनसीआरबी ने जेल में रहने वाले कैदियों पर एक रिपोर्ट जारी किया है। एनसीआरबी की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार जेल में रहने वाले तीन में से दो कैदी दलित, पिछड़े और कम पढ़े-लिखे तबके के लोग हैं। एनसीआरबी ने ये आंकड़े तब जारी किए हैं जब देश के पांच राज्यों में चुनाव होने हैं और इन राज्यों में धर्म और जाति के आधार पर अक्सर वोटों का ध्रुवीकरण देखने को मिलता है।
