Laleh Khalili is Professor at the Department of Politics and International Studies, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
Her most recent book 'Time in the Shadows: Confinement in Counterinsurgencies' (Stanford University Press,2013), draws on interviews with former detainees of Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay, and various Israeli detention camps and prisons. Her work on Middle Eastern and Iranian affairs has been widely published in the international press.
